Windsor Spitfires’ Adam Henrique Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Adam Henrique of the Windsor Spitfires is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 4. Henrique led the league in scoring with eight points including five goals and three assists while producing a plus-minus rating of plus-3 in three games.
Henrique capped off a three-game weekend road trip with his top performance on Sunday with three third period goals to lead the Spitfires to a 6-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs. Named the second star of the game, he netted his first goal just 30 seconds into the final frame to tie the score at three, and later scored the insurance marker at 15:14 before completing the hat-trick at 17:18 of the period to solidify the win. His week began with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Ottawa 67’s on Friday night, before tallying a three-point night on Saturday in the 5-4 overtime win against the Belleville Bulls scoring one goal and two assists.
Henrique, a 19-year-old from Burford, ON, is in his fourth OHL season with the Spitfires. He is currently tied for third in league scoring with 14 points following a 2008-09 campaign where he scored 30 goals and 33 assists for 63 points in 56 games, and finished tied for the tournament lead in scoring with nine points at the MasterCard Memorial Cup in Rimouski, QC. He was selected in the third round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

Niagara IceDogs’ Mark Visentin Named CHL Goaltender of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Mark Visentin of the Niagara IceDogs is the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 4. In two starts Visentin stopped 97 of 101 shots faced with a goals-against-average of 2.01 and a save percentage of .960 with one victory.
On Thursday night Visentin and the IceDogs played host to the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors where he turned aside 50 shots including 22 in the third period to earn the 4-2 win as second star of the game. On Saturday night the shots continued to find Visentin who managed 47 saves in putting together another second star effort despite the 2-1 loss to the Guelph Storm.
Visentin, a 17-year-old from Waterdown, ON, is in his second OHL season with the IceDogs and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Through five games this season he has posted a 2-3-0-0 record with a 2.82 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage.

Regina Pats’ Jordan Weal Named CHL Player of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Jordan Weal of the Regina Pats is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 4. Weal scored four goals and added five assists for nine points in three wins for the Pats.
Weal opened the week for the Pats with three goals to record his first career WHL hat-trick as second star of a 9-3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders. Although unable to find the back of the net Friday night against Swift Current, Weal still contributed two assists in the 6-1 win over the Broncos as third star of the game. His week finished Saturday with a four-point game scoring one goal and three assists in the 7-3 win over the Red Deer Rebels and was again named third star of the game.
Weal, a 17-year-old from North Vancouver, BC, is in his second WHL season with the Pats and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In his rookie season, Weal recorded 70 points in 65 games and was the WHL Eastern Conference nominee for WHL Rookie of the Year.
