Spitfires’ Troy Passingham Named CHL Goaltender of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Troy Passingham of the Windsor Spitfires is the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 18. In three starts Passingham earned three wins including two shutout victories with a goals-against-average of 1.67 and a save percentage of .938.
Passingham currently leads the OHL with three shutouts. This past week, he backstopped the Spitfires to two of them. The first came on Monday afternoon making 28 saves in a 7-0 win over the Sudbury Wolves. His second shutout of the week came Saturday night after a 29 save performance earning the Spitfires a 4-0 win over West Division rivals the Plymouth Whalers. He was also named the game’s third star. His third win of the week came the Thursday prior, a 19 save effort against the Ottawa 67′s in an 8-5 win.
Passingham, an 18-year-old from Mississauga, ON, is playing in his first OHL season with the Spitfires. He has a record of 8-2-0-1 with a goals-against-average of 2.33 and save percentage of .918. The Spitfires, winners of three straight games, currently hold top spot in the OHL with 19 points in 13 games.

Medicine Hat Tigers` Mark Isherwood Named CHL Player of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that defenceman Mark Isherwood of the Medicine Hat Tigers is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 18. Isherwood scored four goals with two assists for six points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-2.
Isherwood helped the Tigers to a 3-0-0-0 record beginning Monday in Kamloops with a big 12-5 victory over the Blazers. He scored two goals in the contest and was named the game’s second star. On Friday night he assisted on both goals for the Tigers who battled to a 2-1 overtime win against the Chilliwack Bruins. His week finished Sunday with another two-goal performance netting the game-winner in a 4-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos and was named first star of the game.
Isherwood, a 20-year-old from Abbotsford, BC, is in his fourth full WHL season with the Tigers. He has six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 12 games and is currently ranked third in scoring amongst WHL defencemen.
