Drakkar’s Nathan Dunnett Named CHL Goaltender of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League announced yesterday that Nathan Dunnett of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar is the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending December 6. Dunnett won two games including a shutout victory posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .971.
Dunnett earned his second shutout of the season Friday night in a 2-0 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes. He made a season-high 37 saves including 17 in the third period and was named first star of the game. He finished his week on Sunday with a 6-2 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies with a second star performance making 31 saves including 14 in the third period.
Dunnett, a 19-year-old from Whitney, NB, is playing in his third QMJHL season and first full season with the Drakkar after joining the club midway through last year from the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Dunnett and the Drakkar have now won three straight games.

Americans’ Johnny Lazo Named CHL Player of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Johnny Lazo of the Tri-City Americans is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 6. In two road games Lazo scored six goals with one assist for seven points with a plus-minus rating of plus-5.
Lazo’s two hat-trick performances led the Americans to two wins this week beginning Friday night in a 7-0 win over the Kamloops Blazers where he netted three goals including the game-winner at 4:42 of the opening period as first star of the game. Lazo collected his second straight three-goal game and third of his career Saturday night also adding an assist as first star of a 5-1 win over the Kelowna Rockets.
Lazo, a 20-year-old from Winnipeg, MB, is playing in his third full WHL season with the Americans. In 29 games this season he has 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points.
