Mooseheads’ Peter Delmas Named CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Peter Delmas of the Halifax Mooseheads is the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending January 17. Delmas earned two victories in goal with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .964.

Delmas began his week between the pipes on Friday night and faced 19 shots and turned aside all but one with 18 saves in a 5-1 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. The win marked his first in a Mooseheads jersey since being acquired from the Quebec Remparts earlier this month. He faced a heavier workload on Sunday night against one of the QMJHL’s top teams the Drummondville Voltigeurs and responded well with 35 saves as first star of the 2-1 win.

Delmas, a 19-year-old from Bedford, Nova Scotia, is playing in his fourth QMJHL season where he has appeared in just four games with his new club since the exchange with Quebec. Delmas was selected in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.
