Seguin and Hall share OHL scoring title
It came down to the last thirty seconds in the last game of the season for the Plymouth Whalers, but Tyler Seguin was able to tie rival Taylor Hall for the OHL scoring title by notching his 48th goal of the season.
It was the first time since 1973/74 that two players will share the trophy for most points in a season.
It’s fitting really, that the two high profiled stars – either of whom could go first overall at this year’s NHL draft – finished tied.
With Windsor clinching first overall in the Western Conference Thursday night against the Whalers, Hall sat out the last two games of the season. He also missed games over the Christmas break when he competed for Canada at the World Junior Championships.
Even with the Whalers clinching fourth overall in the Western Conference Saturday, Seguin said he never had the option to sit out Sunday’s game, and probably wouldn’t have if he was asked.
