WHL Power Rankings

Five weeks five different teams.

This week the Spokane Chiefs steamroll their way into first. They outscored their opponents 22-7. Included in that was a 9-3 drubbing of the Red Deer Rebels.

The Rebels sorely missed the presence of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. While he was at Canada’s WJC selection camp the Rebels managed just three goals over the weekend.

The Vancouver Giants are leading the B.C. division but just barely. The Giants are in a slump having only won three of their last 10 games.

The Oil Kings continue their climb in the rankings this week. Moving up into the top 10 for the first time this season. They have earned 17 of a possible 20 points in their last 10 games.

Tri-City is showing that they’re not going anywhere. Currently on a two game winning streak the Americans sit third in the very competitive US division.

No surprise that Seattle struggled last weekend. Starting netminder Calvin Pickard was away at selection camp.
