CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game Rosters Announced
On Wednesday afternoon, 40 draft eligible players were announced as the competitors in the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Last season, 17 players who played in game were selected in the first round of the NHL entry draft.
In the 16 year history of the game, it has featured nine players that were later selected with the first overall pick in the NHL including Chris Phillips, Joe Thornton, Vincent Lecavalier, Rick Nash, Marc-Andre Fleury, Patrick Kane, Steven Stamkos, John Tavares, and Taylor Hall.
Doug Gilmour will be a coach on one side, while Don Cherry will once again coach the opposite team.
The roster for Cherry’s Team Red will be as follows;
Goaltenders — Chris Gibson (Chicoutimi Sagueneens), David Honzik (Victoriaville Tigres)
Defenseman — Miles Bell (Regina Pats), Scott Harrington (London Knights), Joe Morrow (Portland Winterhawks), Ryan Murphy (Kitchener Rangers), Duncan Siemens (Saskatoon Blades), Tyler Wotherspoon (Portland Winterhawks)
Forwards — Sean Couturier (Drummondville Voltigeurs), Philip Devos (Victoriaville Tigres), Nicklas Jensen (Oshawa Generals), Tomas Jurco (Saint John Sea Dogs), Gabriel Landeskog (Kitchener Rangers), Mark McNeill (Prince Albert Raiders, Matthew Puempel (Peterborough Petes), Rickard Rakell (Plymouth Whalers), Ty Rattie (Portland Winterhawks), Tobias Reider (Kitchener Rangers), Mark Scheifele (Barrie Colts), Ryan Strome (Niagara Ice Dogs)
The roster for Gilmour’s Team White will be as follows;

The two-day event also features an exciting skills competition and a three-on-three challenege which takes place on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. The Prospects Game will then take place the following evening, Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
