Sharks recall Majors’ JP Anderson

SAN JOSE, Calif. — San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has recalled goaltender J.P. Anderson from the Mississauga St. Michael Majors of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) on emergency basis.

Anderson, 18, has appeared in 30 games this season with Mississauga, posting an impressive 22-5-0-1 record along with a .915 save percentage and a 2.29 goals-against average, which ranks second in the OHL.

Signed by San Jose as a free agent on Sept. 20, 2010, Anderson appeared in two of San Jose’s three games during the YoungStars Tournament in Penticton, B.C. from Sept. 12-16 and posted a 2-0 record, a 2.00 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.
