OHL Western Conference Finals Set

The Ontario Hockey League announced Sunday the dates for the Western Conference Championship Series for the Wayne Gretzky Trophy between the Owen Sound Attack and the Windsor Spitfires. 

The Spitfires defeated the Saginaw Spirit 5-0 on Sunday night to win the Western Conference Semi-Final series in six games.  It was the Spitfires 10th straight playoff series with win, setting an OHL record in the process.   The Attack closed out their series last week, sweeping the sixth ranked Plymouth Whalers.

During the season, Owen Sound held the edge in the four meetings against Windsor, with three wins and a loss.  All games were one-goal games except for the Attack’s 6-4 win on February 10th.

The series begins Tuesday night in Owen Sound.  The rest of the series goes as follows:  

Game 1 – Tuesday April 19 at 7:00 pm at Owen Sound

Game 2 – Thursday April 21 at 7:05 pm at Windsor

Game 3 – Saturday April 23 at 7:30 pm at Owen Sound

Game 4 – Monday April 25 at 7:05 pm at Windsor

Game 5 – Wednesday April 27 at 7:00 pm at Owen Sound*

Game 6 – Friday April 29 at 7:05 pm at Windsor*

Game 7 – Sunday May 1 at 2:00 pm at Owen Sound*
