Mississauga, ON – Brian O’Neill, discipline chairman for the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup, announced today that Brayden McNabb of the Kootenay Ice has been suspended for one game for receiving a major and game misconduct for elbowing on Saturday, May 21 vs. Owen Sound.

McNabb will serve his suspension tonight when Kootenay plays Mississauga.

Brian O’Neill stated, “following review of the referee’s report, and watching all of the television footage of the incident, I determined that it was a reckless action by the player but not a deliberate attempt to injure.”

This is the first suspension in a MasterCard Memorial Cup since the 1999 event in Ottawa, ON.
